AGING & ELDERCARE AT HOME

The AGS Foundation’s ElderCare Guide

The American Geriatrics Society’s Foundation for Health in Aging (FHA) champions initiatives in public education, research and public policy.

  1.   Advancing the principles and practice of geriatric medicine;

  2. Educating policy makers and the public on the health care needs and concerns of older adults;

  3. Supporting aging research that reduces disability and frailty, and improves quality of life and health outcomes;

  4. Encouraging older adults to be effective advocates for their own health care

  5.   Helping family members and other caregivers take better care of their older loved ones and themselves.

“The American Geriatrics Society’s Foundation For Health In America believes that if their core beliefs about geriatrics are widely promoted, accepted and adopted, they have the potential to bring vast benefits to a much-troubled American health care system.”
