Elder Rights and Resource – Long Term Care Ombudsman Program

Long-term care ombudsmen are advocates for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, assisted living facilities and similar adult care facilities. They provide an on-going presence in long-term care facilities, monitoring care and conditions and providing a voice for those who are unable to speak for themselves.


Family Caregiver Alliance

The first community-based nonprofit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care at home. FCA now offers programs at national, state and local levels to support and sustain caregivers.

Veterans Affairs Aid and Attendance Special Pension

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is reaching out to inform wartime veterans and surviving spouses about an under-used, special monthly pension benefit called Aid and Attendance. This benefit may be available to those who have in-home care or who live in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
